JOB DESCRIPTION

The Video Editing Executive plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of our educational content by creating, editing, and optimizing video materials. This role is responsible for ensuring that our video content is engaging, informative, and aligned with the company’s educational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Video Editing:
    • Edit and assemble raw video footage, ensuring smooth transitions, audio clarity, and visual consistency.
    • Apply video effects, graphics, and animations to enhance the educational content.
    • Ensure proper pacing and timing of videos to maintain viewer engagement.
  • Content Enhancement:
    • Collaborate with instructional designers and content creators to understand the educational objectives and vision for each video.
    • Implement creative storytelling techniques and visual aids to explain complex concepts effectively.
    • Optimize video content for different platforms and devices.
  • Quality Control:
    • Review and proof content for accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
    • Ensure that all video content meets the company’s branding and quality standards.
    • Continuously seek feedback from stakeholders to improve video quality.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Stay updated on the latest video editing software, techniques, and trends in the EdTech industry. (Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effect etc, Adobe Audition)
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to video editing and production.
  • Media Management:
    • Organize and maintain a digital library of video assets, including raw footage, graphics, and audio files.
    • Assist in asset retrieval and management for various projects.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other team members, such as content creators, graphic designers, and instructional designers, to ensure seamless video integration into course materials.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and deadlines.
  • Compliance and Copyright:
    • Ensure all video content complies with copyright laws and licensing agreements.
    • Guide proper attribution and permissions when using third-party content.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining project timelines.
    • Prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in film production, multimedia, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in video editing and production, preferably in an educational or EdTech setting.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, visual communication, and educational content creation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Technical skills to troubleshoot video-related issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of e-learning platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience with 2D and 3D animation software.
  • Graphic design skills for creating visual elements in videos.
  • Familiarity with audio editing and sound design.
  • Understanding of copyright laws and fair use policies related to educational content.
