Auptimate is a Singapore-headquartered startup that helps angel investors, syndicate leads, fund managers and other professional investors to design, launch, operate and invest in SPVs and Syndicates. We’re a seed stage startup, having closed our first round of fundraising in December 2022, and are growing rapidly.

Your responsibilities

You will be expected to:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all technical aspects of the company, including system architecture, SaaS solutions, automations, integrations and workflow tools, amongst other technical components.
• Evaluate, select and implement appropriate technologies, tools and platforms to support the architecture.
• Collaborate closely with the executive team to align technology strategies with business goals and objectives.
• Lead and manage a core team of remote engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our technical offerings remain competitive and up-to-date.
• Manage technology budgets and optimise the need and spend on any vendors.
• Identify needed skills aligned to the strategy and technology roadmap.
• Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence within the technology team.

You will report directly to our Chief Product Officer (based in Tokyo)

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help us build the next generation of financial technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, and experience with developing and deploying scalable, secure, and reliable systems. They will also be a team player who is passionate about solving complex problems and delivering innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate must have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a technical leadership role, preferably within a startup environment.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with custom-built development.
• Strong background in software development, architecture, and technology strategy.
• Demonstrated success in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience with, and ideally certification for, low-code platforms (e.g. Bubble, Glide, AppSheet, etc.).
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Integration experience with APIs and webhooks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

The ideal candidate would also ideally have (although not compulsory):

• Experience at a FinTech, LegalTech or RegTech startup.
• Database system expertise.
• Experience with software development tools and methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
• Scrum certification.
